Participants (Magic Makers, ages 5 and up), work together each week toward a two-act professional production at the end of the session. Participants focus on the show’s blocking, choreography, solo and group songs, character work, and more. All staff and Buddies work together to nurture and support participants in reaching individual potential and collective success.
A tech and dress rehearsal occurs the day before the performance on stage. All rehearsals take place at the Civic House, 124 Dunnell Road (across from the Maplewood Train Station), with the exception of the dress/tech rehearsal (April 25th) and performance (April 26th) which will take place at First Presbyterian & Trinity Church, 111 Irvington Ave, South Orange.
Fee includes weekly sessions with a team experienced in both theatre and adaptations/accommodations (with additional support from Buddies and Volunteers as well as our Behavioral/Mental Health Team), Script, Costume, Professional Theatre Elements (Set, Props, Lighting, Sound, etc), Show T-Shirt, Access to Rehearsal/Choreography Videos.
Specific to our Magic Makers program, participants will be able to keep their costumes after the performance as they will be designed with the specific performer in mind.
